My focus is on helping people make a major shift of awareness in their lives to increase their general wellbeing. Hence the name of the service... Life Change Hypnotherapy. I don't normally do just narrow therapies such as just Stop Smoking programs. (Often one addiction is replaced by another if general mental well-being doesn't improve.)

My aim is to improve your wellbeing holistically - body, emotions, mind, and spirit. To do this I selectively draw on positive psychology, mindfulness practices, career/life counselling, personal futuring, brief psychotherapy and empowering psychoeducation as appropriate for your needs and priorities.

- Your thought in the moment creates your experience of life and 100% of your feelings. The process works from the inside out. ALWAYS. However to us it appears that the outside world of circumstances, stress, other people, the past or the future is causing our experience of life... and our problems. This is a powerful illusion we all get drawn into. When you learn to see this, problems lose their power and the world of thought you live in can begin to calm down.
~ This is the source of your "problems" ~ - Your real self is pure consciousness... a core of energy, love and intelligence which is indestructible and eternal. It is always there but often covered up by the effects of your thinking. The real you can never be damaged and is always available as a source of peace, compassion, and wellbeing. It is the innate source of inner strength and health which sustains you and is you. You will always be safe and okay because of this real you… despite the illusions of this world - your world of thought.
~ This is who you really are ~ - You will forget all this at times and say & do not-so wise things. That is okay. Why? Have another look at Secrets 1 and 2 above. Living with a human brain is tricky! Fortunately, you don't have to be perfect... or even particularly good at it. However, if you keep looking in this direction, these secrets will grow in your awareness and change your life.

What to Expect
Overall, you can expect to get faster results than with typical "talking therapy." Kirsch, Montgomery, & Sapirstein (1995) performed a meta-analysis of 18 separate studies which compared cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT - the most widely used talking therapy) with and without the use of hypnosis. They found that clients who received CBT with hypnosis showed a 70% greater improvement than those who just received CBT. Hence you can expect time and cost savings as you should not need as many sessions for any one issue.
In the first part of the session we will discuss your experience and explore what is creating that experience.
The latter part of the session will be a time for you to relax and let your day-to-day mind take a break while I guide you through an experience designed to help you access personal resources and empowering changes in your beliefs and emotions. It could be described as "guided meditation on steroids."

"Hypnotherapy weight loss" is by far the most searched hypnotherapy phrase on Google. More people look for it than all the other hypnotherapy related phrases put together. Why? Because hypnotherapy for weight loss can be powerful.
Despite this, I don't do traditional "weight loss"!
I focus on health creation using hypnotherapy to support changes in lifestyle, belief patterns, and the types of food people eat. This enables your body to reset the "set-point" for its optimal weight and start heading for it. For psychological and physiological reasons this is a far more effective long-term approach to healthy weight reduction and has many more additional benefits for you as the client. For more information on the physiological approach to weight loss that I work with read this NY Times article here by Dr David Ludwig. Dr Ludwig's research has found that people generally don't get fat because they over-eat... they over-eat because there cells have become programmed to store fat by the types of food they eat... and this makes them crave food. Healthy, sustainable weight loss is not about borrowing intrusive medical concepts such as lap band surgery and indiscriminately applying them with hypnosis. There are better approaches. Unfortunately most people are still not aware of the scientific evidence surrounding healthy diet (which is not about "dieting"). The continuing confusion is, at least partly, due to massive on-going efforts by the food and pharmaceutical industry to protect their market share. Hypnotherapy can also be used to counter their efforts at habituating you to their unhealthy "food" products.
